Arthur W. Landry has practiced law for more than 30 years, appearing before all courts in Louisiana, as well as state and federal courts in Texas and Mississippi. His practice is primarily in the representation of insurers and corporations in defense of general casualty litigation of all types, with an emphasis on products liability, premises liability, toxic tort, and property damage claims. He has handled liability, contractual indemnity, and insurance coverage issues in litigation involving catastrophic events such as the blowout of oil and gas wells and the explosion of pressure vessels, and has defended personal injury, property damage and class action litigation arising from such incidents.
He has authored numerous insurance coverage opinions and appellate briefs on liability, contractual interpretation, indemnity and insurance coverage issues and has appeared in many cases before the Louisiana Courts of Appeal and Louisiana Supreme Court, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Texas.
He is a member of the Louisiana State, New Orleans and American Bar Associations, as well as the New Orleans and Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the Tulane Inns of Court, and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. He is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court, and has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America from 2008 to the present.
He received his B.A. degree in 1976 from Vanderbilt University and his J.D degree in 1979 from Tulane Law School.
